Camp Bullies

The Camp Bullies are the main antagonists of the 1977 Peanuts film Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown.

They are sadistic and destructive thugs who brag about winning the race every year for their evil pleasure. They always win by cheating, such as using the motor on their raft and stealing air from other campers' rafts. They also purposely switch and add signs to endanger the lives of the other kids and the lives of Snoopy and Woodstock and didn't care if they killed them, just as they would lose and be determined as always: #1.

While their names are never mentioned, but they own a psychotic cat named Brutus (in which Sally misidentifies as a dog) who is terrifying enough to attack anyone, even Snoopy and Woodstock. They all claim to control Camp Remote. One thing scares them: Linus' security blanket because he used it as a whip.

They are voiced by Kirk Jue, Jordan Warren and Tom Muller.

Personality[]

The Camp Bullies are shown to be evil, rude, sadistic, disrespectful, heartless, callous, threatening, arrogant, destructive, and insane, with almost no redeeming qualities and showed no remorse for their actions of reckless endangerment and nearly getting the other contestants killed as they just see themselves as number 1.

Appearance[]

They are three boys with blue pants and shirts and white hats.

Biography[]

The three thugs are first seen when Charlie Brown, who Snoopy has wiped out from the long motorcycle ride to camp, accidentally bumps into one of them. They laugh at him for his name. Then they pick on Sally for saying she was drafted and "making too much noise" and laugh at her. They then used their cat Brutus to attack Snoopy and Woodstock, and Brutus almost attacked Charlie Brown and Sally Brown. He then tries to intimidate Linus, who fights back by using his blanket as a whip and snapping it at the thugs to make them back off (which also earns him some unwanted attention from Sally Brown as she praises the courage of his self-proclaimed "Sweet Babboo").

That night before the river-raft race, the thugs with a motor on a raft steal air from the rafts of the boys team (Charlie Brown, Linus, Schroeder and Franklin) and the girls team (Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Sally, and Lucy) so they win and be # 1. During the race they always switch and add signs just to endanger the lives of the other contestants just to make sure they can just beat them which would kill all of the contestants, such as sending them to a blasting area where construction blasting is scheduled.

However, all teams encounter various obstacles: getting lost, stuck, storms and blizzards. As Snoopy leaves the plant to relentlessly search for Woodstock after being separated by a storm, the thugs attempt to repair their raft to return to the river-raft race. Meanwhile, Snoopy and Woodstock manage to find each other after a long search and are happily reunited.

However, while the Peanuts gang reunited with Snoopy and Woodstock, the thugs maliciously destroy their rafts and cheat them again, but the groups work together on one raft, with Charlie Brown as the leader of the combined group. Charlie Brown is starting to grow more into his leadership role. However, this is noticed by the thugs, so they once again endanger them by sending the group down a dangerous slide similar like to a toboggan in an amusement park and stop the water wheel by jamming it with a log, resulting in the merged group being stuck on the wheel. As the leader, Charlie Brown says it's up to him to deal with the problems and make a dangerous waterwheel descent to remove the log and get the group moving.

With Charlie Brown's growing confidence and leadership, the gang is poised to win the race to the top after overcoming the considerable odds they've faced in recent days. Unfortunately, Peppermint Patty encourages the girls to celebrate too soon and in her excitement accidentally knocks the boys overboard; when they try to save them, the thugs violently seize the opportunity to charge forward by pushing them off the raft to disposed of them once and for all.

The thugs rejoice in their early victory, believing that they will win and that Charlie Brown and his friends have no change to defeat them. Unfortunately for the villainous thugs, their raft suffers numerous damages during the race, sinking before the finish line. They end up disqualified for their evil actions against Charlie Brown and his friends and almost killed them because of their reckless actions. The thugs then vow revenge on Charlie Brown and his friends the next year, but end up humiliated when Snoopy beats up Brutus for trying to attack Woodstock, who won the race.

Brutus[]

Brutus is a vicious cat (misidentified as a dog by Sally Brown) who intimidates even Snoopy. Like his owners, he is horrified by Linus' way of using the security blanket as a weapon. He is eventually beaten by Snoopy as punishment for always attacking and trying to eat Woodstock, who won the race.

Brutus reappears in You'll Find Her Someday, Charlie Brown in which he is Mary Jo's pet. At first he strikes Snoopy as a stranger, but he eventually softens.

Trivia[]

They, alongside the Red Baron and his Flying Circus, are the only characters in Peanuts to be a actual villains, because other antagonists are either mere bullies, jerks, or scammers.
They are arguably some of the darkest Peanuts villains, as they deliberately place signs to endanger the lives of the other children, which would gotten the other contestants killed, just to make sure that they'll lose.
