Cameron Campbell (Hollyoaks)

Cameron Campbell was a one of the major antagonists on british soap opera Hollyoaks from June 2014 and January 2017.

Cameron's storylines revolved around getting to know his daughter Peri Lomax and adjusting to life after a 14 year prison sentance. Cameron would go onto become one of Hollyoaks' most prolific killers racking up a total number of 8 victims after going on a killing spree for covering up one secret for the other.

He was played by Cameron Moore.

History

Cameron was first seen in June 2014 when Sam Lomax visited him to warn him to stay away from Leela and Peri as Cameron's release was upcoming, it was revealed that Sam had set Cameron up at the age of 14 for a crime he didn't commit, Sam did this so it keeps Cameron away from Leela and being a high up detective it was easy for Sam to do so but after being released Cameron got the truth out of Sam and exposed it to Leela and the rest of the family. Cameron would get a job as a chef and begin to know his daughter Peri, Cameron would kill both Sam and her husband Danny Lomax by purposely hitting their car with his van causing Sam and Danny to die in the resulting crash, Cameron would also kill gangster known as Big Bob in defence of Leela who Big Bob tried to take hostage.

Cameron would feud with Ziggy Roscoe for the affections of Leela as Ziggy was Leela's boyfriend, eventually, Cameron even after dating Celine McQueen eventually Cameron would begin dating Leela again but that would breifly come to an end by December 2015 when Cameron is released from prison after spending a few months behind bars for the 'accidental' killings of Sam and Danny, Leela attempts to take Peri away causing Cameron to purposely cause a gasleak which results in a explosion, Ziggy saved Leela but the Ziggy would shockingly die from his head injury a day later.

In 2016 came Cameron's most murderous spree he went onto to kill even his own brother Lockie Campbell after confessing to Lockie that he purposely killed Sam and Danny. Cameron would also get Leela's brother Ste Hay purposely hooked back onto Crystal Meth to make it look like Ste was going mad whenever he spoke ill of or accused Cameron of anything. In October 2016, Spooktacular a Halloween event took place in Hollyoaks Village but Cameron was on a war path after discovering that serial killer Nico Blake tried to kill his daugher Peri, Cameron tracks down Nico at a maze and purposely sets the maze on fire with Nico along with her mother Sienna Blake trapped inside the maze sets ablaze and Nico seemingly dies alothough this is later rewritten to be a unidentified female. Sienna was saved by Warren Fox. As the Maze set ablze though a explosion took place and this would cause Joe Roscoe who was trapped on a ferris wheel to fall and later die in Hospital. Celine McQueen later sees video evidence of Cameron starting the fire and confronts him, Cameron is shook and later kidnaps Celine and kills her.

Cameron's crimes are finally exposed by January 2017 shocking the Lomax family, after being caught, Cameron is hit by van driven by Mac Nightingale who leaves him however Cameron survives and after a hospital stint Cameron is sent to prison where his visited by Peri for one last time Peri tells Cameron that she wants nothing to do with him ever again, Cameron is never seen again after Peri leaves.

Trivia

• Cameron is one of Hollyoaks' biggest serial killers only being behind the likes of Silas Blissett, Breda McQueen, Warren Fox and Lindsey Butterfield.
• In a strange coincidence back in December 2010, Cameron Moore would appear as a guest character also called Cameron however it turned out Cameron was a made up profile set up by serial killer Silas Blissett to lower India Longford to kill her. Its never been stated that Cameron in 2010 and Cameron are ever the same character however its very unlikely given Cameron Campbell was in prison.
