Cain Dingle is the signature hardman of Emmerdale village. His reign of terror has varied. In his original stint, Cain was a scally who often tormented the residents of Emmerdale village although he was seen to be no match for villains such as Ray Mullan. Cain's original stint lasted for six years when he arrived in March 2000 and departed in September 2006. Cain returned in April 2009 and began to cause trouble again. Eventually two years into his stint he was attacked by an unknown person in December 2011.

In 2012. Emmerdale's writers decided to make Cain their own version of EastEnders' Phil Mitchell, Phil is who Cain is compared to the most due to how similar they both are. Like Phil,Cain has committed many crimes during his time these include; Arson, Assault, Attempted Murder,Blackmail, Kidnapping and Manslaughter.

Cain has had various feuds with many of the residents of Emmerdale such as; Cameron Murray, Al Chapman, Jai Sharma, Charity Dingle, Will Taylor, Caleb Milligan, Kim Tate, as well as the Reynolds and King family.

History[]

Cain has bullied and tormented his way around Emmerdale village. From kidnap to arson Cain has done it all. He was first seen in March 2000 at his cousin Butch funeral and vowed to make Chris Tate pay for his death.

Cain also entered into an affair with Angie Reynolds and also slept with her underaged daughter, Ollie. Cain often bullied his way around the village getting people such as Sam Dingle and Andy Sugden to commit various crimes with him. Cain is the reason that gangland boss, Ray Mullan opted to move to the Dales. Cain then began working for Ray.

In 2006, Cain enters into affair with Sadie King, the two plan to fleece Sadie's husband Tom King and the pair stage a kidnap however Cain betrays Sadie and leaves with the full 2 million pounds. But Cain returns in April 2009. After his 2009 return, Cain once again caused problems for many residents such as the Kings, the Wyldes and Andy Sugden.

By December 2011, Cain racked up many enemies and was attacked and left for dead it was however eventually reveled that it was Cain's father, Zak Dingle who attacked Cain.

By 2012, Cain's hardman act was upped and he began to be seen regularly assaulting people in order to intimidate those who he saw fit to do so. Although Cain has had his fair share of call outs by characters like serial killer, Cameron Murray, dodge buissness and conman, Al Chapman and most recently Will Taylor.

  • Ollie Reynolds - Groomed Ollie into sleeping with him. She was 15 years of age the age of consent in the U.K. is 15.
  • Adrian Collins - Caused Adrian's death by parking his van in the middle of the road during a pursuit. The following crash killed Adrian.
  • Angie Reynolds - Caused Angie's death as she was in the same police car with Adrian. Angie however suffered a little more as she did not die on impact instead she die in the arms of Cain.
  • Noreen Bell - Died in the Showhome explosion that was caused by Cain driving a crane into the building.
  • David Brown - Died in the Showhome explosion that was caused by Cain driving a crane into the building.
  • Dawn Woods - Died of head injuries due to the Showhome explosion caused by Cain driving crane into the building.
  • Al Chapman - Engaged in a physical fight with Al however Cain's son, Kyle entered and picked up Cain's gun and shot Al thinking Al was going to harm Cain. Cain lured Al into the very barn where the shooting took place.
