~ Bun Bun's most famous quote. |
Bun Bun is the main antagonist of Underfist: Halloween Bash, a spin-off movie from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. He is an evil, foul natured, and cruel otherworldly marshmallow bunny rabbit. He is also the archenemy Irwin, Hoss Delgado, and Fred Fredburger. He was voiced by Dave Wittenberg.
Biography[]
Introduced as a fit warlord, he is the leader of the candy monsters, as well as Irwin and Hoss Delgado's archenemy. He at first appeared as Mindy's assistant, but later became the film's main villain when it was first revealed that he put a witch worm in Mindy's hair that turned her into a witch in the first place. Convincing her Irwin was responsible, Bun Bun coaxed Mindy into getting him back by using him to touch a magical gem that released Bun Bun and his minions to reign havoc. In addition to that, he is revealed to be Hoss Delgado's evil monster who lived in his closet and haunted him as a child, making him hate all monsters as a result, similarly having tormented Billy as an infant by dangling spiders in front of him, making him fear and hate spiders including his "son" Jeff, and sawed off Fred Fredburger's tusks while he was asleep (although Fred either didn't notice, or didn't care). All of that was revealed within a span of a few minutes and was given no reason whatsoever, being a parody of the common plot device of a villain being involved in the hero's backstory and harming them in the past, and was taken to implausible lengths.
At the end of the film, General Reginald Skarr seemingly joined Bun Bun's side, but then betrayed and kicked him into a giant pot of hot chocolate where he melted. Bun Bun then appeared in a cloud of vapor and angrily yells: "What did I ever do to you guys?!" before he vanished into smoke, never to be seen again and ending his threat for good. The next day, the Underfist team is awarded by President Mandy for their role in saving not only Endsville, but the world, from Bun Bun's clutches.
During the film's credits, a similar bunny to Bun Bun, but with a blue bow tie and made of flesh, can be seen carrying explosive Easter eggs in a scene jokingly dubbed as "Underfist Easter Beatdown". Whether this bunny is somehow related to Bun Bun is unclear.
What makes him close to Pure Evil[]
- His motivation behind his ambitions to take over the world with his candy monsters is extremely lame: he was just mocked for being "soft" by other marshmallow bunnies so he decided to get back at them by targeting several innocents who had nothing to do with his mistreatment.
- Another of his reasons is that people have eaten candy over the years and how costumed children scare supernatural creatures such as evil spirits on Halloween night, but it's unclear if such candy were sentient like those of the Underworld or if people even knew that their candy was alive.
- Furthermore, Bun Bun never exactly indicates how bad were his fellow bunnies teasing him, so it could be even the case that he overreacted.
- Enjoyed breaking into houses, whether in the Mortal Realm or in the Underworld, to scare the people living there out of sadism:
- Scared a pre-teen Hoss Delgado by grinning sinisterly at him from his closet, leading Hoss to wet his bed for many years and develop a phobia towards monsters, growing up into a fierce spectral exterminator.
- Scared Billy by holding spiders above him while he slept on his crib until Billy was traumatized with an immense phobia to spiders, eventually rejecting his "son" Jeff the Spider after Billy accidentally "hatched" him.
- Sawed Fred Fredburger's horns off while he was sleeping. While Fred didn't seem to mind losing them, it doesn't justify Bun Bun cutting them off without permission.
- Infiltrates the Endsville Elementary School and infects Mindy with a Witch Worm during an exam, transforming Mindy into a horrid witch (while Mindy is a jerk, she didn't do anything that bad to deserve it), then tricking her into believing that it was her classmate Irwin's pencil, which she took "borrowed" during the exam, that infected her with mummy scarabs, leading Mindy to become evil and trick Irwin into opening one of Bun Bun's Underworld portals to start the invasion destroying all of humanity to ensure she can be the prettiest person in the world.
- Sends his Candy Monster to ravage Endsville, which lead his forces to assault kids like Sperg (though at least in his case, Sperg had it coming), throw police cars every time they try to stop them and destroy buildings, setting them on fire. As portals keep being opened across the globe, Bun Bun's army razes cities and engages in combat with the world's armies, which while unconfirmed, likely leads to at least some deaths.
- Even worse is that the global chaos would lead Mandy of all people to be elected as President of the United States of America, which, while good because Mandy makes a decent effort to stop the paranormal invasion with the assistance of Billy and Grim, she still rules her country and by extension the world with an iron fist and, in a possible future, ends up establishing a ruthless dictatorship.
- Kidnaps President Mandy and locks her up in a tower of the Underworld.
- Orders Perkins to execute a captive Hoss Delgado by throwing him into a giant chocolate cup to boil him alive. While Hoss does survive after he falls and Irwin uses his vampire/mummy powers to break the cup, most of the liquid had already been poured and several of his Candy Monsters get killed because of it.
- Lets Mindy concoct a potion on her cauldron to transform his Candy Monsters into monstruous beasts so they can eat all kids in the world.
- Dresses again on his witch cape and hat to scare Delgado when he starts remembering him.
- Offers a disgruntled General Skarr to turn against Underfist so he can defeat them.
- Has Mindy distribute caramel apples filled with magical gems to open much more portals for his Candy Monsters to arrive from the Underworld and expand his invasion. This also endangered any unwary consumers to potentially damage themselves if they bite the apples, which is what happens to Fred Fredburger.
- Betrays Mindy once she realizes the error of her ways and remarks that he knew she was a pathetic loser who wouldn't stay loyal to him, proving that he only saw her as a pawn he would discard once her usefulness was fullfilled.
- Attempts to have Mindy and all of Underfist's members killed by ordering Skarr to pour hot cocoa on them with his giant cup, only for Skarr to kick him into the cocoa as he never intented to switch sides.
- His act of leaving several portals to the Underworld opened on the Mortal Realm would have consequences even after his death, as Uncle Boogersnatch and his army of squid fiends come out of it the next day with the intentions to destroy the sun, leading the Underfist to go to fight against them.
- Considering that Underfist: Halloween Bash was intended to be the backdoor pilot for a Underfist spin-off series, it's more than likely that most of the show's enemies would have arrived to the Mortal Realm thanks to the portals Bun Bun created, which would have made Bun Bun indirectly responsible for all their villainies.
- Ultimately, Bun Bun ends up being one of the franchise's worst threats due to how he nearly gets all children in the world eaten alive by his Candy Monsters (which, in the long run, could have resulted in humanity going extinct) and his personal villainy towards Hoss, Billy, Jeff, Fred and Mindy, which deeply hurt most of them with almost permanent effects.
- Whenever his Candy Monsters are killed, he never expresses any kind of concern for their welfare, suggesting that he actually just cares for himself and only sees them as useful pawns.
What prevents him from Pure Evil[]
- Has several comical moments that detract from his villainy, like when he and his army mock Hoss for calling "mommy" to his mother and when he ridicules Irwin for correcting him due to saying something redundant, running in circles like a little kid "scared" that the grammar police would come to arrest him.
- He treating his right-hand Perkins quite nicely and, though a bit annoyed, handing a handkerchief to Irwin when he starts crying for Mindy informing him he is gonna stay a monster forever thanks to his genes.

Trivia[]
- So far, Bun Bun is notable for being one of the few seriously competent baddies in the series apart from Mandy.
- There was a rumor that Bun Bun was going to make a comeback in the cancelled Underfist: The Series spin-off show (as Underfist: Halloween Bash was intended to be the pilot for such series before Maxwell Atoms' contract with Cartoon Network expired) reincarnated as a real bunny made of flesh due the appearance of a similar bunny during the film's credits sequence, which hinted some plot points, stories and characters which were to be used in the series.
