He faked all the alien sightings in Pontypandy to increase his ratings, but he was ashamed of himself for doing so.

• His name is a mixed reference to the character of Buck Rogers from the cult Sci-Fi franchise with the same name and the actor Kirk Douglas.
• His model is based on his voice actor, David Tennant, and his appearance resembles the Tenth Doctor (played by Tennant) from the popular TV series, Doctor Who.
