~ Bridget Fitzsimmons mentioning the train she had left Bill on |
Bridget South Tenth Street Bridge Fitzsimmons, is a character in F is for Family. She is a minor character in Season 2, the secondary antagonist in Season 3, a major antagonist in Season 4 and a supporting antagonist in Season 5. She is Jimmy Fitzsimmons younger sister and Bill Murphy's former love interest. She is voiced by Debi Derryberry.

Initially in the Season 2 Finale, Bridget appears to be a much nicer person than Jimmy, even going so far as to thank Bill for saving her brother when Jimmy admits that he'd do something worse to him if it was the other way around. Like her brother though, she has a very foul mouth. She also speaks with a lisp.
However, throughout Season 3, it turns out Bridget is a very cynical, deceitful, violent chaotic psycho, even worse than her brother, who is also afraid of her. Her Father also appears to be afraid of her to some extent as he believed she actually killed Bill when he heard he went missing.
She is very hyper and has a relatively violent mind. This was demonstrated when, according to the Newspaper seen in "Mr. Murphy's Wild Ride", Bridget was unsympathetically laughing at a seriously injured Ice Cream Man.
Over time, Bill realizes she's a very difficult person to be with. While giving him the same physical abuse Jimmy gave him before, she was also very demanding and got him into a lot of trouble. She almost made him bicycle into a moving truck, and later caused him to get beaten up by bigger kids who bullied him (regardless of the fact that Bill was able to talk them down into letting them go unharmed). She then made him cycle her home, even though he was in terrible pain with a nosebleed, black eye, and broken ankle.
After seemingly breaking up, Bill still missed her, despite Jimmy's warnings, as he wanted to keep Bill safe.
After reading a letter from Bill about them breaking up (while claiming she didn't break up), she treated him much worse. She sprayed his bike pink and wrote the word "pussy" on it, put fake letters (saying that Bill defecates on the customers' lawn) in the Newspapers that nearly cost him his job, and made a dummy of him which she hung near his front door. All of this leads to Bill beginning to hate Bridget, thus (when confronting her) stating that she is "the worst thing that's ever happened" to him and calling her a "fucking psycho".
But immediately thereafter, she successfully manipulated Bill into getting back with her, only to convince him to run away with her to Pittsburgh. She then ditched him at the last minute and left him on the train all by himself.
In Season 4, Bridget continues to aggressively mistreat Bill like before after their relationship ended. Midway through the season, Bill began to act out over Frank's mistreatment of him while playing hockey. This leads to Bridget pining over him, which increases when he abused her the way she did to him. She also begins to hang out with Maureen after the latter discovered how vulnerable she is over her mother's death, and also because the two girls share a mutual hatred towards Amy Jenkins.
Family and Relationships[]
Parents[]

Bridget is very sensitive when it comes to her late mother. She cries when Amy teases her over her death, though she tries to hide it. She wears a locket with a picture of her, and obviously misses her very much. Based on this picture, she seemed much more loving than Mr. Fitzsimmons.
Bridget does not have a very good relationship with her father. Although she takes after him in many ways. He and Jimmy are both afraid of her, which leads to her being left alone most of the time.
Jimmy[]
Jimmy is Bridget's older brother. She is very cruel to him and has zero respect for him. She blinded him in one eye by putting nail polish in his insulin, and enjoys insulting and terrorizing him. Jimmy warns Bill to stay away from Bridget, for his own safety. Although it was made clear that at some point Jimmy loved Bridget, as seen when he hits Bill for "taking his father and sister from him."
Bill Murphy[]
Bill and Bridget dated for a short period, but her behavior eventually drives him away. When Bill stops paying attention to her, she bullies him even worse. Vandalizing his bike and sabotaging his paper route, among other things. They break up for good when she abandons him on a train to Pittsburgh.
In season 4, Bridget continues her bullying of him. Hitting Bill and mocking him every chance she gets. When he becomes the rat of the hockey team, she is attracted to him again but Bill rejects her, which only attracts her even more.
Maureen Murphy[]
Bridget and Maureen become friends over their mutual hatred of Amy Jenkins. Maureen and Bridget have many of the same trouble making interests, such as smashing bottles. Bridget encourages Maureen to do worse, such as stealing, breaking into the school, vandalism, etc. Bridget helps Maureen get the lead in the play by poisoning Amy with a dead goldfish, which Maureen appreciates. Bridget later helps Maureen with her attempt to raise her grandfather from the grave.
