Roman Beauvais Sionis (better known under the alias Black Mask) is a supporting antagonist of the DC Extended Universe, appearing as th
e main antagonist om Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn

. He is a powerful crime lord and the boss of Victor Zsasz, who seeks to take control over all of Gotham by acquiring the Bertinelli fortune.
He was protrayed by Ewan McGregor.
Biography[]
Before the events of the film he was dissowned by his family and eventually gained their fortune in his adulthood. He opened a club and started going by the alias "Black Mask" which he named his club after.
Birds of Prey[]
He is first seen in his club as Dinah Lance sings. He attempts to convince a chinese mob boss to join his criminal orgization but he rejects it. Harly Quinn shows up and breaks Roman's Driver's legs, causing him to appoint Dinah as his driver. Later he finds out that the Bertinelli Diamond (A diamond that gives access to the Bertinelli fortune) has been stolen.
The Chinese Mob Boss dies[]
He is later seen at a warehouse, where the Chinese Mob Boss and his wife and daughters are being held hostage. He orders Victor Zasaz to brutally kill the three by cutting the left side of their faces off and sends a mesage to other crime bosses in gotham to join him or die. He walks outside and gets driven back to his club by Dinah.
Makes a deal with Harly Quinn[]
He kidnappes Harly and tells her that without Joker he can do anything to her and he hates her because she has a vagina. Before he can kill her, though, she makes a deal with him, that she can get the Diamond back from Cassandra Caine in 24 hours and if she fails he can kill her. He agrees and, after she leaves sends a text massage to other crime bosses that Cassandra Caine has the diamond, thus backstabbing Harly.
Battle at the Funhouse[]
After hearing about Dinah's betrayal he dons his Black mask and sets out after them along with other criminals to get them and get the diamond. He corners them in a funhouse and sends multiple criminals in the funhouse to kill them, but all of them are killed instead. He kidnaps Cassandra and drives away in a van while Harly pursues them on roller-skates. She accidentally causes the van to crash and chases after Roman who is holding Cassandra captive on the pier.
Final confrontation and death[]
He tricks Harly into wasting her last bullet and holds Cassandra at gunpoint, threatening to kill her. Harly and Cassandra have an emotional moment that ends with Cassandra saying she took Harly ring, revealing she had taken a grenade from Harly and slipped it into Roman's jacket pocket. After realizing this he attempts to get rid of the grenade in a panic, but gets pushed of the pier by Harly and is killed when the grenade detonates, which blows him apart and sends his remains falling into the sea. With him dead, the ladies are able to live their lives in peace.
