Benny Fazio was a young associate of the dimeo Crime Family. The fact that he was godson to respected Capo Larry Barese and his close friendship with Christopher Moltisanti (nephew to boss Tony Soprano) helped his star rise considerably.
Benny helped Chris rob a charity jewel concert. Benny fired a shot at a guard but no one was hurt and he got away clean. Despite his good relationship with Chris Benny jouned in on the beating Chris took at his intervention for his drug addiction.
After Tony canceled the hit on new York boss Carmine Lupertazzi Benny eas entrusted with eliminating the would be assassins, Benny and Petey Larossa ambushed them and murdered them in order to ensure no one would ever know the hit on Carmine was ever considered.
Over time Benny was given responsibility acting as his personal driver and guard of his house. Benny also helped Chirs send Feech Lamanna back to prison by persuading him to store a truck or stolen plasma televisions in his garage, knowing Tony had arranged for the parole officer to pay a visit.
During Tony's conflict with the Lupertazzi family, Benny was beaten and hospitalized by Lupertazzi capo Phil Leotardo. Tony felt guilty over this and told Benny he would arrange for him to become a made man. Benny's wife Jen was pregnant but that did not deter him from beginning an affair with Vesuvio hostess Martina. This earned him the jealousy of the establishment's owner Artie Bucco, who had set his eyes on her.
Benny used his relationship with Martina to get Vesuvio's account numbers and commit credit card fraud at Artie's restaurant. After noticing that Martina had new expensive shoes Artie realised Benny had orchestrated the scam. Artie confronted Benny on his front porch and beat him unconscious on his own front porch. Benny brought the matter to Tony's attention but was forbidden from hurting Artie as he and Tony were close childhood friends and was forced to make peace.
Tony also made Benny have his parents' anniversary dinner at vesuvio. Artie made veiled references to Benny's relationship with Martina. Benny followed Artie into the kitchen and plunged his hand into boiling hot tomato sauce, however the feud seemed to die down after this. Benny was upset when Chris died.
