Benjamin Marx was a financial broker and sociopath and the main antagonist of the episode Red Rover, Red Rover of The Mentalist.
History[]
He worked at Dennis Victor's company where he was a financial broker. But when his counterpart Antonio Castro found out that he was stealing from the company, Marx then killed him by burying him alive. When CBI started investigating the case, Patrick Jane was sure that Marx was to blame. That's why Jane buried him alive, but he stayed alive. This episode led to Jane's resignation to Lorelei Martins presentation.
However, afterwards when Jane felt threatened he then created a false list of suspects who could be Red John, and Marx's name was on that list along with Richard Haibach another character who appeared in the fourth season. In the end, Marx was killed and burned by Bob Kirkland who wanted to take revenge on Red John for killing his brother.
