Baldi is the titular main antagonist of Baldi's Basics in Education & Learning. He is a teacher who seems friendly and polite at first, but gets angry and violent when the player answers the quiz incorrectly. He is voiced by Micah "Mystman12" McGonigal, creator of the game.
Description[]
Baldi is a poorly modeled CGI character with an appearance as that of a seemingly bald human figure with long, skinny fingers, pale-tan skin, red lips, and what seems to be a singular copper strand of hair on his head. He wears a long-sleeved green shirt, blue pants (unknown type), and light brown shoes. Even though he has no visible ears, the description mentions that Baldi has an excellent sense of hearing.
Strangely enough, Baldi's facial expression while chasing the Player, while heavily compressed and distorted, is neutral and not one of anger.
Upon hacking and putting them side by side, Tutor Baldi (Baldi when he is not angry) and Baldi (When he is angry) actually have different heights. Based on the scaling of Baldi's ruler, tutor Baldi is about 6.6 feet (201.17 centimeters) tall, while angry Baldi is about 6.9 feet ( 210.31 centimeters) tall.
Depiction in fan-fiction[]
He appears in fan-made videos where he meets other characters who have gone through the portal to "his" schoolhouse. In these depictions Baldi usually is murderous rather than just short tempered and slightly violent. He threatens anyone who insults math, gets any answer wrong, and fails to answer it. However, he is always defeated in the end. Personality[]
NOTE: Lots of people think that Baldi is murderous and kills students. However, based on the logic of Baldi's Basics Plus and Baldi's Basics Classic, his murderous personality has been slightly disproved (not entirely). In both games, Baldi isn't actually seen killing the player, but rather "interpreted" as slapping them. In Baldi's Basics Plus, Baldi is shown to be a lot nicer and when he catches you, it is interpreted as "tagging you" by the game, but is still unknown as to what really happens to the player.
Baldi is known for his eerily nonchalant demeanor, and his (poorly) hidden anger issues. He carries a façade of friendliness and a relaxed demeanor, though it most likely is his default mental state. He warmly greets students and uses positive reinforcement when they correctly answer his questions. He loves math, and believes everyone else does. His love for the subject is so strong that when other people fail to answer a math question, his psyche shatters and he undergoes a disturbing personality change. His formerly talkative and affable nature completely disappears, and he drastically changes into a cold man keen on delivering punishment for even minor mistakes. It is also possible that Baldi's mental stability is seen only when people follow what he wants. He slaps his ruler in his hand like some sort of compulsive habit, and slowly but surely chases his quarry, growing faster the angrier he gets. After collecting notebooks, he gives students a chance to leave the school, albeit in a limited time span and laughs at their escape efforts. It is unknown if he is a psychopath or sociopath, but it is more likely that Baldi is a sociopath according to the "NOTE".
Impossible question[]
Within Baldi's Basics Classic lies a problem on the You Can Think Pad that is impossible. The question is random every time and the cause is unknown. Knowing that Baldi is normally a really nice person, it is very unlike that he is making the problem corrupted on purpose just to spank kids. It is most likely a bug that Baldi is unaware of, so Baldi just thinks the player got their math wrong.
