Archie Mitchell was the main antagonist of EastEnders between July 2008 and December 2009. Archie was evil, charismatic, manipulative and devious. He is regarded by many as one of the most evil villains in soap opera and certainly EastEnders of all time.
Archie only choose what he wanted to show people what he was really like only Ronnie Mitchell his eldest daughter knew what a true monster Archie really was. Woman or man, Archie didn't care who he had to manipulate in order to get what he wanted.
Archie made that many enimies it eventually caught up with him on Christmas day 2009 where he would be murdered on a whodunit storyline with his killer finally being revealed during a live episode that aired in February 2010 as part of the shows 25th anniversary celebrations.
Archie Mitchell was played by Larry Lamb.
History[]
Archie was first seen in July 2008 when it's revealed that his youngest daughter Roxy Mitchell has fled Walford to stay with him, Archie comes face to face with Peggy Mitchell and the pair instantly spark their loving feelings towards one another. It's seen Archie who had multiple business's is now retired and rich. He instantly when alone tries to gaslight Ronnie and even attacks her, he briefly has a feud with Roxy's eventual husband Sean Slater. When Archie discovers that Danielle Jones is tge daughter of Ronnie who he gave away and had Ronnie believe the baby had died, Archie does his best to keep this from Ronnie and even tries to kill Danielle at one point but he is interrupted or more nearly caught by Danielle as he attempted to sneak attack her. Once the truth was out Archie was eventually exposed and abandoned by his family, Phil Mitchell, Peggy's son was ordered by Peggy to kill Archie, Archie would be kidnapped by Phil but Phil would not go through with killing Archie to Peggy's disgust. Archie leaves the sqaure for some time.
Archie returns weeks later despite Phil's threat, Archie realising Phil hadn't got it in him to kill, Archie coldy tells Phil his sticking around and their isn't anything he can do about it. Archie does his best at first to win Peggy back however when that fails, Archie begins a relationship with Janine Butcher however it turned out he was just using her, on Christmas eve, Archie would take The Vic pub from The Mitchell's and push Ronnie against the bar that would lead her to lose the baby she's pregnant with. Each one of Archie's victims confronts him on Christmas day and the day ends with Archie being murdered.
Archie's killer us revealed in February 2010 and his killer is revealed to be Stacey Slater who Archie raped back in October 2009 during a time Stacey was suffering a major Bi Polar episode.
