Rosie, better known as Apex Alligator or Apex American Alligator, is a large female American alligator who lives in the Fawtick Bayou of Port Clovis in 2020 shark video game, Maneater. She's the third of the seven Apex Predators living in Port Clovis and one of two apex predators to have a name; the other being Mahana, the Apex Orca/Killer Whale.
Characteristics[]
Measuring around 6 m (20 ft) long, Rosie is considerably larger than all alligators in Port Clovis. At level 20, she's 12 times more powerful than normal alligators, seven times more powerful than albino alligators, and five times more powerful than the hunted alligators. Unlike all other alligators, she's the only alligator to have grey (seen during the nighttime and out of the water) to olive-green (seen during the daytime underwater) skin, but still has a powerful tail for swimming, strong jaws, and sharp teeth. Rosie comes with a special pink bow around her neck and has one leg missing. It's likely Rosie lost her front right limb during a performance, trying to escaping from the Bayou Buddies stunt show, or possibly in a fight against another alligator in her youth, which is a common occurrence in real alligators.
Additionally, it is unknown how or why Rosie is so large, as female alligators are generally smaller than males. Nevertheless, prior to her death, Rosie was the largest alligator in Port Clovis.

Rosie has been living in the Bayou Buddies stunt show and been performing for decades, indicating she's now an elder Alligator. During one time either from a performance, failed escape, or fight with another alligator, Rosie lost her right front leg and has only her left front and both back legs remaining. Although one limb is gone, Rosie can still swim with her powerful tail since that's where she gets most of her momentum. After having enough of performing for the stunt show, Rosie finally broke free from captivity and vowed vengeance by terrorizing the entire Fawtick Bayou, eventually becoming its Apex Predator. And for years, she fed on a diet of grouper, turtles, possibly muskellunge, barracuda, even other alligators and her primary source: catfish.
Fight against the Female Bull Shark[]
After defeating the Apex Mako in Golden Shores, the teen/adult female Bull Shark returns to her childhood home in the Fawtick Bayou to face off against Rosie. She first cuts off Rosie's food supply of catfish and groupers and hunting the targeted hunted animals, like other alligators as well as muskellunge. After the objectives, the last objective "Whole Lotta Rosie" will appear and the bull shark heads to the area where Rosie is. Upon entering the area, a cutscene plays, featuring Rosie swimming at lightning speed before opening her jaws at the player in a freeze screen as Trip Westhaven says, "The Bayou Brawler... The American Alligator!" and Rosie swims out of view as the cutscene ends.
The fight between Rosie and the adult Bull Shark ensues as the two predators bite and clash. If the shark is at level 20 or 25, it will still have a hard time trying to thrash Rosie since she would have to be stunned in a vulnerable position. If by luck, the shark would have an opportunity to grab the alligator and thrash around before the reptile breaks free. After a few punishing hits, Rosie finally succumbs from her defeat and is eaten whole by the Bull Shark. The Amphibious Organ will be unlocked for the shark to allow longer time on the surface while snatching humans.
