Angelene is one of Roman Orthodox Church's nuns and a member of a paramilitary group known as the Agnese Forces, led by her friend Agnese Sanctis. With a troubled past just like her friends, she is a hard-working and loyal girl despite her shy personality. She was first introduced in A Certain Magical Index as an antagonist and the clumsy but formidable partner of Lucia, but she later reformed as a supporting character and joined Necessarius, becoming the representative of Roman Orthodox Church in England.

After the war, relations between the churches improved and, as a result of great efforts by Agnese's forces, the group later returned to the authority of the Roman Orthodox Church.

Appearance[]

She is a small young girl, but her timid nature, combined with her tendency to bow, further enhances her small stature. Her face is freckled and her long honey-colored hair is tied into a braid.

Angelene is often seen wearing a nun's costume, but her limbs are often covered with clothing; Angeline wears a metal waist belt and stores a coin bag in a container attached to her belt. Her actual age is unknown, but she looks younger than Agnese, so she appears to be one or two years younger than Index.

Personality[]

Angelene describes herself as someone who doesn't act on her beliefs, which may be referring to her emotions. She seems quite timid in contrast to her partner. She often leans forward or raises her arms close to her body as in her defensive posture. Additionally, more strong-willed characters like Lucia do things for her even when she has doubts, such as when Lucia convinces her to attack her Touma Kamijou after he touches her. You can easily convince her by doing this.

Not only does she look like a child, but so does her personality. She can be teary-eyed and can easily trust people, as demonstrated when Touma and Orsola Aquinas rescued her and Lucia. She loves different desserts and sweet drinks, and her hot butter cocoa chocolate is her favorite. Because of this childishness of her and her penchant for commonplace things, Lucia is often scolded for not being serious when it comes to God, religion, or her important mission. For example, when Lucia is scolded for being too concerned about what her children eat. The food she was about to eat was also young when she was offered the Amakusa-Style Remix of Church. She also seems to be just as gluttonous as Index when it comes to eating, and she doesn't like having her food taken from her plate, like when Index started stealing food from her plate.

When an altercation gets out of hand, Angelene always stops it with an event that gets far more attention than what caused the altercation, such as Angelene lifting Lucia's skirt for the benefit of the audience. Apparently, it's her habit. Her childish and clumsy personality, and the fact that she is still a practicing nun, are probably the reason why Lucia protects her and oversees all of her work. She makes her eat her vegetables. Similarly, Angeline often pulls or grabs her Lucia's clothes as if she were her mother. Even though she is still young, she is envious of big breasts like Orsola and Lucia, and she hates it when someone with a large bust like Lucia tells her that she doesn't need her.

Although Angelene is true to her beliefs, she is not as extreme as Lucia or Agnese. And when it comes to everyday behavior befitting a nun, such as her dining etiquette and work ethics, she has a habit of doing things randomly, so she is constantly being corrected by Lucia. However, this could explain that she is still a nun-in-training. However, despite her childish personality, she can be serious when she needs to be, while also showing her side against her enemies, such as when she worried about the weight of the coin bag she uses. Sometimes it shows compassion.

She admires Agnese Sanctis and tries to faithfully follow her orders, such as when Lucia attempts to attack Touma and Index despite Agnese's orders. She goes on to say that, like Lucia, she will do anything for her, whether it be rescuing her even when the odds are against her, or going into the midst of her battle despite her fear.

Unlike her Agnese and Lucia, her transfer to Necessarius has a major impact on her personality.
