Adytum's Wake is an antagonistic group in the universe of the SCP Foundation. They are a Sarkic cult, as well as a clandestine secret society that practices the occult.
History[]
Adytum's Wake is the oldest Sarkic organization in North America, going as far back as 1650.
In the 20th century Adytum's Wake was led by Cornelius P. Bodfel III, a millionaire industrialist, who was also known as Karcist Sulkisk. The group would frequently gather at Bodfel Manor, Massachusetts, where they would host ritual orgies that included rape, pedophilia, human sacrifice, and cannibalism. These events were meticulously documented with journals and photographs. Members of the group consisted of respected politicians, leaders of industry, and religious authority.
Bodfel himself owned a handwirtten copy of the Valkzaron as well as a statue of the deity Yaldabaoth.
On November 28, 1952, agents of the Global Occult Coalition stormed the Bodfel Manor, because it was believed that the cult tried to summon Grand Karcist Ion, the deified leader of Sarkicism. During the assault Bodfel himself, as well as 20 other cultists were killed, as were 8 GOC agents (4 of which were killed through self inflicted gunshot wounds). This event led to the creation of SCP-2480, a Keter-class extra-dimensional anomaly.
The group was speculated to still be active today, being led by Vivian Durant-Croÿ (president and CEO of the Durant Bodfel Financial Group).
